Privacy
Your writing is not analytics.
Qalam is local-first. Your notes remain on your device unless you explicitly connect or export them.
What stays private
We never collect note text, filenames, comments, AI prompts or responses, API keys, folder paths, repository URLs, search terms, or exported files.
Optional anonymous usage
If you choose “Share usage,” Qalam sends coarse product events such as opening review, creating a comment, applying an AI edit, or connecting an AI client. Events use random anonymous browser and session identifiers so we can measure activation and return use.
Events go directly to Qalam’s Cloudflare Analytics Engine dataset. Qalam does not load advertising trackers, fingerprint your device, or sell analytics data.
Your control
Analytics is off until you opt in. You can change the choice under Settings → Privacy. Turning it off deletes the anonymous identifiers stored by Qalam on that device.
Connected services
AI review sends the current note and review comments directly to the provider you configure, only when you request a review. GitHub and MCP connections run only when you set them up. Those services apply their own privacy terms.
